01 / The Origin: TAKU is a Series, Not Just a Name
Initiated in 2022, the TAKU project had a pure goal: to allow more players to experience true custom keyboard playability at an entry-level price. However, factory relocation drastically delayed the project.
02 / Hitting Reboot: Scrapping 1,000 CNC Cases
Fast forward to 2024, the keyboard industry had rapidly evolved. Looking back at the original TAKU design, we realized it was outdated. We had over 1,000 fully CNC-machined aluminum cases sitting in the warehouse. While the rational choice would be to sell them anyway, our severe design OCD wouldn't allow it.
We chose to scrap the entire batch—a massive financial sunk cost—and redesign the board from scratch. We named this iteration Reboot.
03 / The Architecture: Entry-Level Price, Flagship Soul
Reboot is a complete overhaul from the case to the internals. Despite its entry-level positioning, the TAKU 65% inherits the complete flagship architecture proven on our MANDA 2.0: tri-mode connectivity, modular interactions, and multiple mounting structures.
04 / Engineering: The Industry's Smallest Quick-Release
To maintain perfect bezel proportions without being restricted by standard quick-release dimensions, we engineered a microscopic 3mm ball-catch, shrinking the single module width to just 4.4mm. It is currently the smallest quick-release mechanism in the industry.
For the core, TAKU utilizes the battle-tested PCB solution from the MANDA 2.0. Powered by a single NRF52840 chip, it effortlessly supports the entire system's functionality with ultra-low power consumption and exceptional wireless performance.
05 / The Ethos: Reboot is an Uncompromising Attitude
Scrapping 1,000 aluminum cases was a painful choice. What's more stubborn is that despite the massive increase in production costs after the redesign, we kept our original promise: the starting price remains 999 RMB. This isn't business logic; it's a designer keeping their word to the community.
